Job Description

QUALIFICATION:

Education:
3 years at vocational schools or 5 years at higher technical colleges in the fields of “Chemistry” or “Mechanical Engineering”

Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Materials / Plastics Engineering – key curriculum subjects:
Mechanics & Machine Elements / Manufacturing & Production Technology / Electrical Engineering / Automation Technology / Plastics & Composite Materials Technology / Materials Engineering & Testing

Chemical Engineering – key curriculum subjects:
Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Physical Chemistry / Inorganic Technology / Physical Process, Energy & Environmental Engineering

Practical experience:
School-owned workshops and laboratories as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies

Educational option:
Composite Materials Technician -> Studies at University / University of Applied Sciences

Completed vocational training in Plastics Engineering / Composite Materials / Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Technology or comparable qualification

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Manufacturing, processing, and testing of fiber-reinforced composites (CFRP/CFP) according to technical specifications
* Preparation of samples, mold making, lamination, vacuum infusion (VI/FI), resin transfer molding (RTM), and autoclave or heating processes
* Quality control during production, measurement of dimensions, weights, and surface quality; documentation according to GMP/ISO 9001
* Support in process optimization, lean methods, and risk analyses (FMEA) to increase efficiency and product quality
* Maintenance and calibration of machines and tools (vacuum systems, autoclaves, presses, temperature control)
* Collaboration with design, quality assurance, and manufacturing to implement design changes
* Adherence to occupational safety regulations, handling hazardous materials, and compliance with environmental protection requirements

skills_and_requirements
A - Practical experience in processing fiber-reinforced composites (e.g., CFRP/CFP) B - Practical experience in relevant manufacturing technologies C - Process knowledge (prepreg, vacuum infusion, RTM, autoclave operation, lamination, pressing) D - Skills in metrology/quality assurance (coordinate measuring machine,layer thickness measurement) E - Basic knowledge of CAD/drawings & understanding of technical specifications F - Ideally, basic knowledge of ISO/AS standards G - Safety training is desirable H - Teamwork skills, manual dexterity, precision & pragmatic problem-solving I - Willingness to work shifts and on-call duty as needed J - Good German skills; English and other language knowledge advantageous
