Job Description

QUALIFICATION:

 

Educational options:
1 – Vocational Training at BAfEP (Bildungsanstalt für Elementarpädagogik = Educational Institute for Early Childhood Education) – duration of 5 years
2 – Bachelor´s degree program

3 – Master´s degree program

4 – University Courses

5 – Early Childhood Educator -> Secondary/Higher Schools

 

This profession can only be practiced after completion of the legally required training and professional activities are also based on the legally prescribed training content

 

Key areas included:
Inclusive Education / Fundamentals of Early Childhood Planning / Socio-emotional Development / Multilingualism / Literacy / Diversity / Leadership in Early Childhood Education Settings

Bachelor´s & Master´s programs:
More in-depth Educational Science and Early Childhood Pedagogy-focused approach to the basic training provided at institutions of Early Childhood Education as well as corresponding colleges

 

Admission to Bachelor´s degree program:
Graduation from the BAfEP (Educational Institute for Early Childhood Education) or a correspondent college

 

Admission to Master´s degree program – completion of prior studies in:
Educational Science / Early Childhood Education / Social Pedagogy / Social Work / Primary School Teaching / Primary School Teaching with focus on Inclusive Education / Special Education

 

Completed university or college degree in Elementary Education / Early Childhood Education / Childhood Pedagogy, or comparable qualification

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Care, support, and observation of the developmental processes of children aged approximately 1–6 years
* Planning, implementation, and follow-up of age-appropriate educational activities and free play periods
* Creation of individual support plans and educational documentation
* Collaboration with parents/guardians, regular parent-teacher meetings
* Cooperation with the team, support during the transition to school or subsequent institutions
* Participation in educational concepts, projects, and school/institutional development
* Documentation and child-friendly reporting
* Implementation of inclusion, observation of educational diagnostics & team reflection

A - Initial practical experience in a daycare center / early childhood education setting desirable B - Enthusiasm for holistic education, inclusive approaches, and individualized support C - Sense of cleanliness and hygiene D - Patience, empathy, team spirit, and strong communication skills E - Flexibility, creativity and respectful attitude towards children & families F - Willingness for team collaboration & mutual support G - Contribution to the further development of internal educational practices H - Willingness to attend parent meetings – if necessary - beyond core working hours I - Very good German language skills; English knowledge is an advantage
