Job Description

QUALIFICATION:

Education:
3 years at technical colleges or 5 years of higher technical institutions in the fields of “Electrical Engineering” / “Electronics” or “Mechatronics”

Electrical Engineering – key curriculum topics:
Energy Systems / Automation Technology / Drive Technology / Industrial Electronics / Applied Computer Science / Production Technology / Computer-aided Project Development

Further knowledge:
Robotics / CAD (Computer-aided Design) / PLD (Programmable Logic Controller) software

Electronics – key curriculum topics:
Hardware Development / Measurement Technology & Control Systems / Digital Systems & Computer Technology / Network Technology / Communications Electronics / Software Engineering / Electronic Design / Prototype Construction

Further knowledge:
SMD Technology / Digital Technology / Manufacturing Technology / PCB Design

Practical experience:
School-owned workshops and laboratories as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies

Educational options:
1 – Manufacturing Metrology Technician – Production Control -> Apprenticeship
2 -  Electrical Engineering Technician – Automation & Process Control Technology -> Apprenticeship

Completed technical training in Electronics / Mechatronics / Automation Technology or comparable qualification – ideally, a degree in Automation / Electronics


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Installation, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of measurement and control systems on-site at customer locations
* Troubleshooting and repair of measurement and control systems
* Programming, parameterization, and optimization of control systems (e.g., PLCs/controllers, process control systems)
* Performing functional tests, acceptance tests, and validation tests according to specifications
* Creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation (installation reports, test certificates, SOPs)
* Supporting the commissioning of new systems, migrations, and expansions
* Collaborating with production, quality assurance, engineering, and customer support
* Training customers and conducting internal training for colleagues
* Ensuring compliance with occupational safety, environmental, and quality standards (industry-dependent)

skills_and_requirements
A - Sound knowledge of measurement & control technology, sensors, drive technology B - Sound knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell) C - Sound knowledge of networks/communication (Industrial Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus) D - Experience in commissioning & maintenance of industrial measurement & control systems E - Practice in troubleshooting of industrial measurement & control systems F - Structured and independent work style, problem-solving skills, budget & resource awareness G - Physical stamina, team spirit, service orientation, and good communication skills H - Willingness to work occasional overtime or shifts – if applicable I - Willingness to travel regionally and/or perform installation at customer sites J - Class B driver's license K - Very good German & English language skills
