Job Description

QUALIFICATION:

Education:
10-semester Pharmacy Degree (6 semester Bachelor´s degree + 4 semester Master´s degree) at an University

Key curriculum topics:
Pharmacology / Extraction, Production & Handling of Pharmaceutical Substances / Processing of these Substances into Medicines / Use of Medicinal Plants

Practical year = “Aspirant Year” must be completed in a pharmacy or hospital pharmacy after the completion of the pharmacy degree program, culminating in the Aspirant Examination administered by the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists.

·         -   This profession can only be practiced after completion of the legally mandated training

·         -    Professional activities are also based on the legally prescribed curriculum

·         -   Professional License in the form a “Pharmacist´s ID Card” is required – to be applied for the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists

Licensure as Pharmacist or German license to practice pharmacy or comparable qualification


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Providing expert advice to customers on medications, therapies, and health-related issues
* Reviewing, dispensing, and monitoring prescribed medications in accordance with pharmacy and pharmaceutical law
* Ensuring medication therapy safety (MTS) and documentation
* Performing drug analysis, advising on dosage forms, dosage, and side effects
* Participating in quality management, QM documentation, SOPs, deviation and CAPA management
* Collaborating with physicians, hospitals, health insurance companies, and external laboratories
* Administering vaccinations and providing health consultations (depending on legal regulations and qualifications)
* Training employees and supporting compliance (GMP/GDP, potentially GMP environment in manufacturing facilities)

skills_and_requirements
A - Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical law, MTS, drug safety, and pharmacy practice B - Experience in advising, dispensing medications, and processing prescriptions & patient care C - Teamwork ability, strong communication skills, and a service-oriented approach D - Organizational skills, accuracy, and a sense of responsibility E - Willingness to work flexible hours (late shifts & weekends – if applicable) F - Class B driver´s license in an advantage G - Fluent in German (written and spoken); English skills are an advantage
