Job Description

QUALIFICATION:

 

Education:
Bachelor´s degree program (240 ECTS credits – min. 8 semesters) plus a Master´s degree program (60 ECTS credits – min. 2 semesters) exclusively offered at Universities of Teacher Education (PH = Pädagogische Hochschulen)

Master's degree must be obtained five years after completing a bachelor's degree being eligible for a permanent teaching position (according to Teacher Employment Act)


This profession can only be practiced after completion of the legally required training and professional activities are also based on the legally prescribed training content

 

Bachelor´s degree program for Primary Education - specialization options:
Inclusive Education / Religious Education / Media Education

 

Key curriculum topics:
General educational foundations / Pedagogy / Didactics

 

Admission requirements:
Completion of entrance & aptitude assessment procedures evaluating suitability for studies and profession (university-specific)

Practical experience:
Internships in primary schools as part of the “Pedagogical-Practical Studies” for pedagogical practices in real-world situations

 

Master´s degree program for Primary School Teaching – specialization “Inclusive Education” (90 ECTS credits – min. 3 semesters) with options:
1 – Speech, Language & Communication
2 – Emotional & Social Development
3 – Cognitive Development

State-certified teaching degree or comparable qualification for Primary Education (M.Ed./Master's degree for primary schools or similar)

 

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
* Planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons in grades 1–4
* Individualized support and diagnostic assessment for students with learning difficulties
* Contribution to the development of the school curriculum and lesson planning
* Collaboration with parents, including constructive parent-teacher conferences
* Participation in school committees (e.g., subject conferences, class leadership)
* Participation in school events, projects, and school development
