Job Description

QUALIFICATION:
Successfully completed studies in Human Medicine -> 9-month basic training (rotation) -> specialization basic training as well as specialization focus training in the chosen specialization (duration between 63 and 72 months without studies - depending on the specialization) -> graduation with specialist examination at the Austria Medical Chamber  

Licensed Physician - Specialist Certification in "Ophthalmology & Optometry"  - additional qualification in optometry/optometric diagnostics is an advantage

ACTIVITIES:
* Specialized ophthalmological care for patients
* Diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, including preventive examinations, screenings, and therapies
* Collaboration with optometry, orthoptics, and other specialist departments
* Performance of diagnostic procedures (e.g., fundus photography, slit-lamp examination, OCT, intraocular pressure measurement)
* Participation in interdisciplinary case discussions and treatment planning
* Documentation, billing, and compliance according to applicable guidelines
* Instruction, supervision, and continuing education of the medical team 
* Collaboration with specialists
* Participation in quality management, clinical research, or evidence-based care
* Emergency care and availability depending on the roster

skills_and_requirements
A - Practical professional experience (10+ years) in the specialist field B - Experience with modern diagnostic equipment (OCT, corneal topography, photography) is preferred C - Sound clinical decision-making skills and treatment competence in ophthalmic care D - Empathy, teamwork & clear communication skills E - Resilience, structured working practices, sense of responsibility F - Willingness to work collaboratively in a collegiate environment G - Willingness to work shifts & weekend services, on call / emergency care depending on the roster H - Very good written and spoken German skills; English & further language skills advantageous
