STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

QUALIFICATION:

Education:
3 years at technical colleges or 5 years at higher technical institutions in the field of “Civil Engineering”

Key curriculum topics:
Construction Cost Estimation / Construction Management / Construction Billing / Cost Accounting / Project Management as well as Construction-specific Expertise

Further knowledge:
Computer-Aided Design (CAD) / Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Practical experience:
School-owned workshops as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies

Educational options:
1 – Structural Engineering Technician -> Apprenticeship
2 -  Structural Engineering Technician -> University / University of Applied Sciences

Completed studies or vocational training as Structural Engineering Technician or comparable qualification

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Preparation and review of structural calculations and execution plans for building construction
* Support of the construction management team in the implementation of projects in the field of structural engineering/steel and concrete construction
* Participation in the preparation of tenders, bills of quantities, and cost estimates
* Conducting site visits, quantity surveys, and deviation management
* Coordination with architects, structural engineers, specialist planners, and construction companies
* Quality assurance, schedule and cost monitoring
* Participation in BIM-based planning and modeling processes (if applicable)
