Job Description

QUALIFICATION:
Education: 5 years at higher technical schools, e. g. in the field of “Civil Engineering – Focus Underground Construction”
Key curriculum topics:
General construction-specific expertise
Specialized knowledge in Water Construction / Hydraulics / Hydropower / River Revitalization 
Knowledge of construction economics -> Construction Management / Accounting / Project Management
Further knowledge:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) / Building Information Modelling (BIM)
Practical experience: School-owned workshops as well as through multi-week mandatory internships in companies 
Educational options:
1 – Underground Construction Technician -> Apprenticeship
2 - Water Construction Technician -> Studies at University / University of Applied Sciences 

Completed training as Hydraulic Engineer / Civil Engineer / Surveyor or comparable qualification

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Planning, supervising construction, and maintaining hydraulic engineering projects (bank reinforcements, flood protection, sewerage and drainage systems)
* Conducting measurement and surveying work as well as quality control
* Collaboration with engineers, construction managers, and authorities
* Conducting construction supervision, cost and schedule monitoring
* Preparation of measurements, reports, and documentation
* Working in the field, even in changing weather conditions

A - Practical experience in hydraulic engineering or flood protection B - Knowledge of structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics & construction law C - Confident use of MS Office, CAD/BIM if necessary D - Teamwork skills, independent working style, problem-solving skills E - Class B driver's license; Willingness to undertake assembly work or work on-site F - Very good German & English skills
