QUALIFICATION:

The apprenticeship “Metal Technician – Forging Technology” is part of the modular apprenticeship “Metal Technician” with totally 9 main modules and 4 specialization  modules

3.5 years apprenticeship - in combination with an additional main or specialization module = 4 years duration

Vehicle Construction Technology / Machining Technology / Metal Construction & Sheet Metal Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Safety Technology / Steel Construction Technology / Toolmaking Technology / Welding Technology

1 - Main Module - Metal Construction & Sheet Metal Technology

Completed vocational training in Metal Technology / Forging Technology / Heat Treatment Technology / Machining Technology, or comparable qualification

ACTIVITIES:
* Machining, forging, forming forged parts, and finishing (bending, upsetting, pressing/rolling processes) according to specifications
* Monitoring and optimizing forging processes (induction, pressure, and pressing)
* Setting up and operating forging presses, rollers, and heat treatment equipment
* Handling forging and heat treatment materials, including hardening, tempering, and surface finishing
* Inspection and characterization of forged parts (dimensional checks, surface inspection, condition assessment)
* Documentation of manufacturing processes, test results, and workflows
* Maintenance, calibration, and repair of forging equipment
* Collaboration with Quality Assurance, Development, and Purchasing
* Compliance with safety and environmental regulations
